HI, I'm Dustin Burnett. Producer / Mixer / Songwriter currently living in the Nashville TN area. I work with artists and bands from all over the US. I develop artist by writing with them and recording their music, and most importantly serving them and finding their inner artist. I also do plenty of mixing for other producers. The band set out to do a video to show their hearts about the huge issues with child slavery and oppressions of human live around our planet. The video shows a girl who is captured, and then freed by another unlikely adolescent, tells us that we can make a difference in these issues. The story in this video should inspire anyone who’s been oppressed. We all need the Mercy Light.

How to make a GREAT record. 5 steps
Everyone is on the quest to make a great record. I’m going to break it down in 5 steps.
1. Write or Find GREAT songs.
2. Practice performing the songs until you are GREAT at them.
3. Hire GREAT musicians and a GREAT Producer.
4. Record with GREAT instruments with GREAT gear.
5. Get a GREAT Mixing Engineer and GREAT Mastering Engineer.
AWESOME!
Now. If you want to make an AMAZING record, just start replacing the word “GREAT” with amazing and repeat the above steps.

Internship Avail for Summer 2012
Hi readers and friends.
I’m currently wanting to bring on an Audio Intern (possibly 2) for this summer to assist with various recording tasks, assisting, mix prep/final mix prints, and getting coffee. ;) This internship will not be a sit-there-with-your-mouth-shut kind of internship. It will be getting your hands dirty, working hard, and going home with skills they don’t teach you in audio school. (but I never went to audio school so I don’t know that for sure). You will also get “assistant” credits on all of the albums we work on in the liner notes. The starting date for the gig has not been finalized as of yet.
In order to qualify you need to have: Initiative, a really awesome attitude, being excited to learn, the willingness to drive to my studio almost every day, the ability to remember “double tall latte with one splenda,” and a cool hang for me and the artists.
In order to qualify you need to already know: Protools Moderately to Proficiently, Elastic Audio, Beat Detective, Antares Autotune, and how to set up basic recording equipment.
In order to qualify you will NOT need: an ego or a big mouth or a critical spirt.
When we are finished you will have learned: Protools like woah, how to manage work flow and set up a session (properly), how to make a drummer and drums sound like a million dollars, how to comp and fix vocals, how to treat clients, and my what my favorite gear is.
As of right now this is a pure internship (no pay), but like I stated above, you WILL learn alot. If you don’t have Initiative I don’t want you, and if you don’t have Initiative you won’t learn or succeed in this business.
